I have a problem. I have a small waist and a larger booty. Some kindly call it an hour glass figure. I'm sure many of you are in the same boat. It generally makes it impossible to find a pair of jeans that doesn't show a bit of butt crack.
Add to that the fact that I have been on a 3 year weight loss journey. I find myself with a closet full of butt-crack exposing jeans.
I went to pinterest sure to find an easy fix but - good Lord - everything was for expert sewers, which involved removing and re - sewing seams. They also required skills with a sewing machine that I do not possess.
Time to put on my thinking cap! This is what I came up with and it works like a charm.
You will need elastic, thread, and a needle.
Start in the middle of the back of your jeans. Cut the elastic to the length of about 3/4 of the way around the back of your pants.
Sew the elastic in place in the middle of the elastic to the middle of your jeans in the back.
Gather the jeans in about an inch and pull the elastic straight across. There will be a gap between the jeans and elastic. Sew this into place with a simple stitch. Depending on how much tighter you need the pants, do a few more stitches a couple of inches apart. Try on the jeans when you are done and add more stitches as needed. No measuring or math required - gotta love it!
I kept some extra elastic at the ends and tacked in place with a stitch just in case I needed to tighten more later.
Now before you put them on they may look slightly like mom jeans or little toddler baby pants, but I am telling you on they look just fine. And the best part they are super comfy. I hate belts, I find them uncomfortable and bulky.
For me this is the perfect solution! I hope you find this useful and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!
